There isn’t much that makes my heart beat faster than the sight of a great looking horse. My favorite spot at any racetrack is along the paddock gathering images to paint. The sunlight on their coats, the brilliant silks, the beautiful fashion…
With a degree in Fine Art from Rhode Island College and a career spanning three decades, my work combines the knowledge of a horse breeder with the creativity of an artist. I’ve had the pleasure of painting horses and dogs of almost every breed and discipline for collections in North America and Europe. After discovering the historic Saratoga Racetrack, I was enthralled with the exciting and visually stimulating world of racing. Portrait commissions, original art and design work devoted to Thoroughbred racing has become a major focus of my work.
Part of the excitement of the sport is the great fashion. One of my recent forays into fashion was creating artwork for the popular line of racing designs for Miss Scarlett Boutique. I have also collaborated with my friend, Breeder’s Cup ambassador and celebrity stylist Carson Kressley. Traveling to the top racetracks and stakes races has become a passion that I hope to continue.
As much as I enjoy travel, my body of work shows my greatest love is for beautiful Saratoga. The iconic red and white of the paddock at Saratoga is a recurring theme in my original work, which may be found at Spa Fine Art in Saratoga Springs, NY.
